Here be the names of some of the heroic individuals who have generously volunteered
their time to beta test Schoolhouse Technologies software. They have been instrumental
in making your software not only more bug-free but more useful, more intuitive,
and more comprehensive than it would otherwise be. They have played key roles in
shaping the software you use today. We are most indebted to them.
|
Chris Wagers |
Chris is a CompTIA A+ certified engineer and has been working with PCs and software
for over a decade. He got off to a flying start on Schoolhouse Test 2 by finding
several bugs in Schoolhouse Test 1 while just getting familiar with the software.
Now that he's actually working with version 2 he's keeping us rather busy. |
|
Henry Franco |
Henry has given us a real puzzler: a bug that we know is there but can't duplicate.
It's a real hair puller. UPDATE: We were finally able to duplicate it and fix it.
Henry also suggested that there should be a way to deactivate a set of questions
in the test. Done it is. |
Rick Shannon
|
Rick uncovered a whole slew of problems: disappearing text on the start-up page,
missing help documentation, and a matching question bug in the answer sheet view.
We think we have those taken care of now. Rick also gave us a wish list for additional
features. We've added the matching question and we're working on the others. |
|
Anthony Kukuc |
Anthony has been championing enhancements for the marks feature which didn't even
exist in version 1. The only question now is how many of his suggestions we can
incorporate into the program before the final release.
|
|
Paul Scarbro |
Paul is keeping us current with test layout preferences in the UK. One such preference
is the display of the assigned marks on the right hand side of each question rather
than the left. And it is also suggested that the marks would stand out a bit more
if they were in a box. You can visit Paul's school website at www.st-edwards.plymouth.sch.uk |
|
Larry Kahn |
Larry likes the general direction that Schoolhouse Technologies products are moving
in and reminds us that today's busy educators just do not have the time to struggle
with overly complex software. Just keep it as simple and user-friendly as possible.
|
|
Evon Gerace |
Evon is a-stay-at home mom with two children (ages 7 and 10). A search for additional
worksheet materials resulted in the regular use of Schoolhouse Tech products. Evon
was one of the testers who recommended an easy way to add symbols to questions which
resulted in the new Symbols dialog. A fill-in-the-blanks question is also on her
wish list. |
|
Kara Raymond |
Kara teaches algebra and geometry and her number one wish for Schoolhouse Test is
an equation editor something like the one in Microsoft Word. We're working on it
but it may not make into the final release of version 2. But as soon as we have
a working editor we will add it to the program as a minor update. Kara would also
like more formatting and layout options, and a way to add a picture to each choice
in the multiple choice question type.

|
Manuel Aroca |
Manuel is a spanish teacher in south of France in Lycée Montaury, 30 Nîmes.
He is also the administrator of the school LAN. The site is based on SPIP and it
is an adaptation of it made by PIPEDU74 called EVA 2.0. Manuel discovered a critical
error in Schoolhouse Test 2 which we were happily able to fix thanks to his detailed
report. |
|
Regina Holtze |
Regina, from New York, helped us as we developed Math Resource Studio 4 by providing
us with many suggestions and pointed out some bugs in the program too. Regina was
able to provide us with some great usability testing.
|
|
Greg Johnson |
Greg is a 4th grade teacher in Knox County Schools in Knoxville, Tennessee. He had
helped beta test our programs for over a year and reported many errors over that
time, including a handful of bugs in Math Resource Studio. |
|
Richard Plecenik |
Richard is a teaching assistant in the Wappingers Central School District in New
York. He has been teaching remedial math to 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders who are at
risk of failing the state math assessment test. After checking out every worksheet
generating program and website that he could find, he settled on Mathematics Worksheet
Factory as his number one choice. When given the opportunity to beta test Math Resource
Studio, he had a few ideas and pointed out some minor bugs too. |
|
Kirsten Rempel |
Kirsten, from British Columbia, Canada, was able to provide us numerous suggestions
for Math Resource Studio 4. Kirsten was an advocate of the new Math 4 program, even
while it was still in beta testing, trying to get other teachers in her school to
try it out as well.
|
|
Olivier Lembert |
Olivier is using our software in France, and says that it may help someone to know
that they can use our software in Europe more than the previous version. Olivier
says that he's just a father trying to give good work for his children. They have
all participating in the evaluation with him and gave him many ideas on how they
could see the program should be for them.
|
|
Anthony Joe |
Anthony teaches third grade in a public school in San Diego and has used the last
several versions of the math programs from Schoolhouse Tech to push his students
into more advanced and (more interesting) math. They like to work with basic algebra
and reducing fractions. The students all have their own Windows computer to use
all day, and sometimes make their own math worksheets with our programs. |
|
Anita Angell |
Anita, from West Sussex, UK, has over 15 years of IT experience and has identified
some errors and made many suggestions to us. When Anita isn't making any of her
great suggestions about for our programs, she is running the website www.howtosupportyourchild.com.
|
|
Paul A. Jones |
Paul is a Mathematics teacher at Lynn Vocational Technical Institute, Lynn MA. He
finds that there is a need for software such as that produced by Schoolhouse Technologies
and anything he can do to help in the development will in the end help other mathematics
teachers to convey the basic concepts for success in mathematics. Paul says that
the key to learning is repetition in the basic areas and texts today do not offer
this. |
|
Jeannie Veitch |
Jeannie, from New South Wales, Australia, was a great help to us when beta testing
Math Resource Studio 4. Jeannie was able to point out bugs occuring in the Shopping
Problems exercise set -- bugs that were actually returning incorrect answers --
as well as a bug regarding changing the location of a decimal within a number.
|
|
Nancy Johnson |
Nancy is a fifth-grade teacher in Clearwater, Florida. She has used Schoolhouse
Technologies software for years and has watched the company grow. Nancy writes,
"I love the new Math Resource Studio, as it is very "teacher-friendly," much like
the Schoolhouse Test software. Your products are a must for teachers. What a timesaver!
I enjoyed my participating in the beta testing and would volunteer again in a heartbeat.
Schoolhouse Tech software, customer service, everything...top notch and awesome."
|
|
Linda Johnson |
Linda is from Alaska. She has been using Schoolhouse Technologies software for a number of years, so we appreciated her willingness to do some beta testing for us. Besides providing feedback to us, she also found a rather sticky glitch with Basic Subtraction that has taken some time to work out.
